Nairobi wins the Africa’s leading business travel destination in 2020
At the recent 27th Annual World Travel Awards, Nairobi won the award for Africa’s Leading Travel Destination in 2020. This is the 3rd time that Nairobi has won the award. The other 2 entries were on 2016 and 2019.
Other cities that were eyeing the award include: South Africa’s Durban, Cape Town and Rwanda’s Kigali.

KICC (Kenyatta International Convention Center) was voted the Africa’s Leading Meetings & Conference Center 2020, second year in a row.
KICC CEO Nana Gecaga, made the following remarks
We are glad to get such great recognition two years in a row. The honors are once again an indication of great and unwavering efforts by the Kenyan Tourism Sector to position the country as a preferred destination for business events
KICC won the bid to host 2020’s Africa & Indian Ocean Gala ceremony – but the event has been postponed to 2021; due to the ongoing Covid-19 global pandemic this year.
